They aren't as strict when it comes down to punishments, they still in force all the rules, including the art theft one. Which art theft is not only a violation on this site's rules but in the US. When you commit art theft on this site you can be subjected to copyright and art theft lawsuits where you can end up with, but not limited to fines of over 250,000 USD, and possibly even jail time.
And no, I used to tell people to keep them from ending up with legal issues because they didn't know the rules or the fact what their doing is illegal.
